This shop update is a collection of three different firings. A 28 hour soda firing from a kiln owned by Alison Palmer, a 10 day anagama firing from a kiln named Joy Brown and a 10 hour wood/soda firing in my own coffin kiln. The soda firing hit cone 11, the anagama hit cone 10 and my coffin kiln hit cone 12 (13 on the bottom).
As always I will give you updates on ML size. We will also talk about the clay body alongside the glaze type. Because of all this, I will most likely do more individual pricing for every piece, the ones I think are extra special will be slightly more and I will let you know why I think that here. When i am measuring the ML size, i usually fill to about 85% of the actual volume, not to the brim.
About this Piece:
Lichen is an old series that this sort of fits into. It is black stonware (Standard 378) on the outside and porcelain (Sheffield 92700) on the inside. The entire piece is glazed with a water like glaze called Caribbean. The outside with black clay resembles the Lichen series but you can see the Ocean series through the holes on one of the sides of the cup. a 1 of 1 from this firing. Fired in my Wood/Soda Coffin Kiln to cone 12/13.
