The most recent firing was in the converted noborigama, a type of single chambered wood kiln. We fired for 28 hours this time and to try something slightly different we fired in mostly an oxidation atmosphere. This created very different results with some beauties and some.. Less than desirable work.
I only put 15 pieces of my own work into this firing so the shop update will be very small. This is also the last update for a bit where I will go with neutral tones. We are back to bright colors next firing.
Named after one of my favorite fish, Chagoi, which translates to translates to "tea-colored koi"
The black blobs are locally sources garnets. Usually i collect stones and give them away but i wanted to try something else.
